The national power grid "four exchanges and four straight" UHV projects have been included in the prevention and control of air pollution in China.

Recently, the 1 million volt Huainan Nanjing Shanghai UHV exchange project was approved by the national development and Reform Commission. It is reported that, in order to implement the action plan for air pollution control, the project will be one of the 12 transmission channels approved by the state, including 4 UHV AC projects of the national Power Grid Corp and 4 UHVDC projects.


At present, the development of UHV power grid in China has stepped into the leading ranks of the world. Special high-voltage national grid has been put into operation in the "two pay three straight lines, in the realization of power transmission from west to East, north to south, and a wide range of hydropower and thermal power energy resources allocation, promote western and northern areas of China's energy advantages into economic advantages, ease the Middle East tension electricity shortage and environmental capacity etc. play an increasingly important role. In April 18th this year, the first meeting of the new National Energy Commission, Premier Li Keqiang explicitly proposed to accelerate the adjustment of energy structure, the implementation of cross transmission projects, the development of long-distance high-capacity transmission technology; according to the planning to start the construction of a group using conventional techniques and UHV power transmission from West to east transmission channel, optimizing the allocation of resources, promote energy efficiency. This is a new request put forward by the executive session of the State Council in February 12th this year, after the implementation of the trans regional power transmission project, once again, for the optimized allocation of trans regional resources and the development of UHV power grids. The inspiring expression fully demonstrates the affirmative and positive support of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council for the development of UHV, and pushes the UHV grid in China to enter the fast lane of accelerated development.


In recent years, the increasingly serious haze and weather in North China, East China and central China are essentially long-term accumulation and concentrated exposure of the contradiction between energy resource endowment and "energy imbalance". The reverse distribution of energy resources and productivity in China determines that our country should implement the optimal allocation of energy in a large scale. Liu Zhenya, the chairman of the national Power Grid Corp and the party secretary, repeatedly pointed out that the solution to the fog and haze was the fundamental way for the development of energy development and the adjustment of structure. The emphasis is on reducing the proportion of coal consumption, developing clean energy, optimizing power supply structure and layout. The key is to accelerate the development of UHV power grid, the "special four" strategy and alternative energy strategy, the transformation of energy development, the realization of China's energy from fossil based energy, supplemented by clean energy transformation, mainly to clean energy, fossil energy supplement strategy.


At present, air pollution, such as haze and haze, has become a common social consensus by speeding up UHV transmission. It is generally believed that the development of UHV, the implementation of long-distance transmission, the control of the scale of coal-fired units in the eastern and central region, the improvement of energy efficiency and the rational adjustment of energy structure are of great significance for solving the problem of air pollution. At the two sessions of the country this year, "UHP" and "electric energy replacement" have become the hot words of attention. Energy output and input provinces are urgently required to speed up the construction of UHV power grid. The statistics show that the 2011~2014 years of the NPC and CPPCC members have submitted 183 proposals and proposals for the development of UHV at the two sessions of the National Congress. According to the study, the upcoming 12 transmission channels will be able to reduce 2 million tons of coal for electricity generation in the future and reduce the concentration of PM2.5 by 4% to 5% in the future.


In the light of the prevention and control of air pollution, the state has issued strict policy measures in recent years. In September last year, the State Council issued the implementation of the action plan for air pollution control. It proposed to speed up the adjustment of the energy structure, increase the supply of clean energy, control the total consumption of coal, and eliminate and replace the traditional way of energy inefficient and heavy pollution. Subsequently, the National Energy Agency proposed the construction of 12 key transmission channels, which was deployed at the national energy conference at the beginning of this year.
